Long story or stories and I recommend not going there. To many sore feelings on too many parts.

I was just thinking that since he wasn't using it anymore it would've been a great opportunity to squash the beef and take the high road and hot link it to the new address. (regardless of who's to blame, I'm sure he has his side of the story too.) but instead he takes another jab by forwarding it to RC, who most of us view as friends of bnarc... But are so big they could care less about the forward.
I've said my piece.... Sorry to re stir the pot... Bod feel free to lock if you desire.

I myself do not feel that RC is a friend of BN Reef (I hate it that we are no longer BNARC) as they do not allow BN Reef to have a forum on RC. Go figure....

We are still BNARC and always will be. Our website is just not bnarc.com anymore. The important thing IMO is that when you search google for bnarc it brings up bnreef.com so that people find the correct url and not his redirect to RC.

Has anyone tried to get RC to give back or allow a forum there? (love your avatar Mark!)

I haven't tried lately....I see that most of the same people I dealt with previously are still on the site, so I would guess that I would get the same story. I will look into it and see what answers I get this time.
As for the old domain...IMO, it is best to let sleeping dogs lie.

I see www.bnarc.com registration expires on: 28-Sep-14
You can try metadata tags with bnarc, bnarc.com etc labels to improve web searches to bnreef.net.

I may be able to help... I'm not sure why BNARC isn't on RC, but I'd be happy to put in a good word...

Very nice of you ct_vol! If you get the old argument from them about past conflicts on the board, none of those people are even around and haven't been for years!!!

Well, I guess I have to ask how serious you guys are about making a return to RC? It is not out of the question, but the rules of RC will have to be followed. To me, the higher exposure for BNARC and vast informational resources of RC are its greatest benefit. With a larger forum comes stricter rules though. Though some of the rules may seem silly at times all of the rules are there for a reason and that is so that all may enjoy viewing a VERY public forum.

There is no fee for RC hosting the club's forum.
RC User Agreement
http://www.reefcentral.com/index.php/user-agreement
The main rules I see broken on RC are:
50/90: You must have 50 contributory posts and have been active 90 days before you can post something for sale.
Political/Religious: You may not post threads with those two topics. Too much cause for heated debate.
Commercial: You may not post items for sale if you are a commercial entity or use RC as free advertising for a website/forum. RC is a forum for hobbyists not a place to pimp your product. ;)
Defamation: You can not just go off kilter and vulgarly bash someone/something... Debate is one thing, but arguments of a personal nature should be carried over into Private Message land...

Well, it took a bit more time and effort than I was anticipating, but BNARC once again has a presence on RC. Please remember that having RC host our BNARC forum is a privilege and not a right. Follow RC's rules when posting there and be respectful of the other members, moderators, and administrators.

I did post on it just to get something started. If we want to keep it we need to use it. it has been up over a month with less the 3 threads. I posted a question on Fragfest so you can work off it to advertise it. If nothing else do double posts one here and one there so we can keep the RC as an advertising mechanism. There is a lot I don't love about RC but it is still one of the most widely read sites.
