I looked up the coris and it said they are not reef compatable, use caution with the yellow coris. I have been looking at the various wrasse all nite. Tough to decide. How soon will you have one?

I have a yellow when it was about 1.5" since day one and now it's about 4" and it's been a very good citizen. Even had a sexy shrimps in the tank and it has not bother anyone. Just mind it's own business and eat during feeding time.

I have had good luck with all of the Halichoeres wrasses if have kept (yellow, radiant, melanurus, checkerboard, richmondi, redhead, trispulus) the one exception I have found is the Halichoeres chloropterus (green wrasse) that got huge and picks on many fish. The coris family of wrasses are generally, large, voracious invert eaters, flipping over rocks making a mess. Not good if you want snails and hermits. Many people call the yellow Halichoeres chrysus a coris wrasse but it is not from that family and is generally a great fish.

Only problem with my yellow corris is occasionally when hes hungry he will nip at my hermits. Not all that often tho. Otherwise he has been a great fish, no nipping at corals at all.

My Green was one of our favorite fish until he just suddenly died, mellow, active, and never caused any problems..

the green coris wrasse is a great fish when they are young, but they get big and can be very territorial. wouldn't recommend it for a 55 gal tank.

I went with the sixline. I did read the coris can be agresive. So far the little guy i picked is checking out everything and cleaning the rocks.
