Got a quick newb question for you guys and i figured i would post in the brand new "Newbie Corner". I was given 3 anemones for free from a guy buying the last of my freshwater fish. He said they were a rarer rose anemone than what you normally see. I was curious what you guys thought and exactly what they are. Pics were taken a couple hours after being in the tank. I can easily get more pics if needed.

Looks like a Rose Bubble Tip to me. Cool that you got it for free. You would spend anywhere from $40 to $80. Make sure it does not get into the pump that I am seeing above and to the right. It could get caught and spit out and sting everything in your tank.

Thanks, thats what i thought too. I actually got 3 for free and some live rock so im pretty happy. Do i really need to worry about one getting sucked up if the biggest openings are the slits visible in the pics? Its the inlet of a canister filter by the way. These are my first anemones so i dont really know what they are capable of. Should i look into making a custom cover for it?

If your really worried about it, put some screen over the inlet. I don't think those canisters have enough suction to really do much though.
